Is Bethany associated with any denomination?

Not really. Bethany Community Church is an independent church, but we are not isolated from other churches. Our plans and direction are determined by our own leadership rather than by an external organization. We associate ourselves with other churches or groups for joint support of common goals.

Our pastor is president of the Laurel Clergy Association. The group has developed effective programs to care for Laurel's homeless, to provide services to those in need, and has also recently launched a new initiative to promote volunteer involvement in our public schools. Every one of Laurel's schools in Prince George's County has now been adopted by a church in the Association. The Clergy Association has also been at the forefront of the battle to keep our community free from the harmful effects of casino gambling that others have attemtped to bring to Laurel. At Bethany, we like to say "Community is our middle name!"
