At Bethany, we believe that children are a gift from God; and thus, we take seriously the challenge to reach and affect young lives. We believe strongly that parents are the primary disciplers of their children. We also understand that most parents feel unprepared for this important role. We recognize that these are culturally demanding times, and are committed to helping families raise their children by providing a safe environment in our church where children can experience God's love for them. Our trained volunteer teachers and care givers can help you to help your children begin and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Age appropriate Bible teaching is available for children every Sunday. During the 9:00 service, we have a nursery that provides nurture for younger children. Our main children’s hour is at 10:30 when the children are distributed among five "classes" while adults worship in our sanctuary. The classes are arranged by age group:
- Infants to 18 months (nursery)
- 18 months to 36 months
- Preschool
- Kindergarten thru Second Grade
- Grades Three through Five
Our youth ministry also offers Sunday morning classes for middle schools students (Grades 6-8); and the high school ministry meets on Sunday evenings.
Our nursery and preschool rooms are equipped with age-appropriate toys and activities. We begin teaching Bible stories and spiritual truths to children when they are toddlers. All of our classrooms are staffed by trained church members who have completed our safety screening program and who love children and serve faithfully on a regular basis.
Elementary school age children meet in our lower level "Promiseland" - an area dedicated to Children's Ministries. Kindergarten through Second Grade students meet in an enclosed classroom while grades 3-5 meet in our spacious Kid's Arena. Bible stories and truths are presented in language that children can understand, and we strive to make our Sunday mornings fun and help build friend relationships.
Our children's programs are offered during worship services every Sunday morning. Special events for children and families are scheduled throughout the year.
